      I was hoping someone would bring this up. The article about enlightenment was submitted by a member because I asked her to send it to the list, hoping it would provoke some thought.

      Simplistic Meditation is here to prove beyond doubt that this teaching by "higher ups" is not necessary and that waiting for years and years is also not necessary.

      Let me just say this much for now: I have never had this total ecstacy experience described in the article; however my girlfriend (Cely) has. Both of us are enlightened to the degree that we are enlightened. While that's quite a bit, enlightenment itself is not this experience. Neither is this bliss-ecstacy the highest state as has been claimed. If bliss and enjoyment were the goal of life, what a greedy web of "spiritual" people we would become.

      Let me say this: As long as you (or anyone) sits there telling yourself you cannot be enlightened easily and cannot meditate "successfully" easily...that is how it will seem to you. The key is to simply meditate and quit worrying about YOUR idea of the success of it all. If you pay attention to the life substance that flows through you, no matter how it seems to be, you will become more aware of that to which you pay attention. It cannot get any simpler than that!!!

      If you then renounce its value because you cannot see it by the senses as "making the grade" according to your idea of what it "should" be doing in your life, you are sitting there defeating yourself. If you were enlightened, your idea of what enlightenment should be might have value...but if you aren't enlightened, and you then apply your idea about what you don't know to this, you will obviously be disappointed over and over. It is when you just pay attention and trust what you are to reveal what you need to know, act on what is revealed when and if you come to understand something enough to do so, and let your life grow...it will inevitably grow into the light that you are...and THAT...is enLIGHTenment. YOU "are" the light...and that is why you must pay attention to YOU.

      Take each step in your enlightenment as it comes. Stop deciding it is not working. Do not give up and quit. Pay attention always until it becomes a way of life...starting a little at a time so you don't burn out. It will come, at first, here a little and there a little...and then one day, perhaps not too far away, you will have your first of many quantum leaps in consciousness...and THEN, no one will need to prod you to pay attention. You will pay attention because your interest will join you in your quest and your spiritual experience will take you beyond your arguing, denying intellect and let you begin to see you as you really are instead of the self-image you have erected without understanding and which others negatively reinforced over the years of your life.

      This is not just directed at (Member)...I have many people say this same thing...just not to the list where others will read it. Open your eyes. Open your heart. Close your (body's) eyes in silent reverie and feel outward into the universe...sense its ebb and flow. It is already there, a living being, awaiting your attention so it can teach you. It is this universe beyond all universes in which we live move and have our being...and YOU are that universe if only you will pay attention and discover the only thing of value in the world...YOU. Then share YOU with the rest of YOU...which happily...is US...the US of YOU. :)

      And the Lord of all the earth, of all heavens and of all the seas, stands forth upon the starry sky and holds forth his arms in love to all who would hear...and says simply with a small smile in his eye...Come! And those in the world who had formerly thought they were alive, begin to realize they are dead...and come forth from the graves they are hidden in, having called these graves their lives. And these wonderful children begin to arise into the light to take upon themselves the cloak of light and power and to be the life that they find themselves to be forevermore. Know that you are indeed the light of the world and the saviours of your own selves and of all your brothers and sisters throughout the world if you will but look unto the altar I have prepared for you within. Go there and see what wonders you are within your own self...and therein see what wonders I am in all around you...and share with these the wonder you see in yourself and in them as one family of love, shining brightly...a star in the night where darkness is no longer feared, but seen as a place to shine! Look into your own eyes in the mirror until you see the twinkle of childish joy there...dare to believe in you...and know that this twinkle IS the light of God on your altar!

There's a paradox afoot. This world is the world of appearances where that which is so can and will appear as that which is not, oft causing the seeker to "see" the appearance and then "believe" the appearance, rather than "know" what is so.

Clearly, simplistic meditation is not about going within and feeling or seeing (although these may happen). Always remember that we go within to watch, to pay attention. Whatever we see or feel there may or may not be worthy of attention. Rather, we begin to notice the source of all things, even the source, substance and mechanisms by which these illusions appear in varying degrees of alignment (or truth).

So, go within, all of us. Go within and watch and listen. For what? For nothing in particular. Whatever comes, whatever happens, whatever we feel, whatever we see or hear...truly matters not. What does matter is that we have become willing to go within and pay attention. To go within IS to come home, where the peaceful and heavenly waters flow forever.

Stand forth in the clear light within and do not be deceived. We are that which we seek, all of us. So, remember not to go within looking for something else, for some sign that things are A-okay. The only thing that is so within you is YOU. You are worthy of your adoration, for therein is God glorified in the Child God has created in us...that we would look up within to the light on the altar there, and see the source of our being. And while appearances may swirl around us, seeking to distract us (i.e.--the fall), always remain calmly cognizant that we are one with this inner light; we ARE this inner light. When ecstacy raises its head, pay attention to it, and then set it aside to pay attention to the life that is capable of such ecstacy. When pain and suffering raises its head, pay attention to it, and then set it aside to pay attention to the life that is capable of all things, including the healing we need...but not healing of the pain and suffering only, but healing also of those other judgments we have failed to recognize for what they are...those illusions and judgments called wonderful and ecstatic. Pleasure and pain are the same thing...they are experience...and the source of your life (life itself, in you as you) is far, far beyond experience. And what then shall we call it? We need call it nothing...we need but to be what we are in joyful understanding. Joy exceeds bliss and ecstacy in the same way that peace exceeds nonviolence. There are perfectly aligned illusions and feelings aplenty...such as bliss, ecstacy and nonviolence, caring, nurturing, etc. Beyond all these and beyond the cares of the world of the appearance of pain, the vapours of the waters of life part and a rainbow of living presence fills all corners of the universe. And every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that this presence is the life that they are...wholly one with them, filled with power and glory. And so it is...this life within...that we seek...not merely to "see" nor to "hear" nor to agree with each other that we have found the answer because of certain "signs" in the world of appearances about us. To see within your own breast, the wonderful light that you are, answers all those old questions, illuminates the joy that supersedes happiness, the glory that supersedes beauty, the knowledge of all things that supersedes all things as peace (the only power)...tranquilly glowing, a radiant, coalescing of all things into one...a literal song of joy that "wonderful" and "joyous" and words of any kind cannot explain nor adequately express. And together as ONE...we rejoice. For this reason and only this reason, is simplistic meditation brought among us. Whether one believes in a God or not does not matter one whit...for the promise is to all, the believing and the unbelieving, the just and the unjust, the caring and the horrendous...if anyone at all will hear the voice of this testament and will come...simply come unto this light to sit willingly and quietly, without plea or question in its presence...then is all the world judged and the end is come. And the end of this world shall be a rejoicing and a song and a relief of stress and woe and crying. There is but one righteous judge who declares from the beginning...Vengeance is mine...I will repay...ALL my children...with love and peace and joy forever. And just who is that righteous judge??? Go within and find out...YOU will be overjoyed, awed beyond any mere belief...as we all join hands as one world, as one universe...as one creation, the same (light) yesterday, today and forever.
