I love ACIM; but it often gets so complicated and technical, it misses the obvious point. It is not that we do not know anything in and of ourselves. Rather, it is that we don't have a clue who and what we are...and therefore, through that misidentification, we cannot then realize that knowledge. Hence, we are stuck with the visions our changeable and error-prone intellect is capable of...leading us further and further from oneness into the complexities where knowledge is not.

When we surrender, remember we are not surrendering to a "higher power" or some "other power" - instead, we are surrendering to that ultimate reality of ourselves that lies beyond our intellect, beyond our emotions and beyond our over-judged behaviors and situations. We truly are all there is...we are the whole thing, not merely a part of something larger. Our intellect is not capable of knowing wholly because its attention is divided into innumerable and intricately woven fragments. This is much like taking a $2.95 dictionary published in American English in 1927 and expecting it to contain "A Treatise on Light" written in Modern French in mid-1999. Simple...it cannot be done.

It is not what we do not know that is hurting us. It is that, even though we do literally know all things, we continually find rationalizations for refusing to admit it or view it as it is. We quite seriously prefer to see a lie and limited world. No matter how much we tell ourselves we desire to see wholeness and knowledge, we don't...for if we did truly and wholly desire it, there is no power in the universe or beyond that could prevent its automatically happening.

Open yourself to the knowledge the truth points to and it will become yours as the effect of your willingness relaxes the intellect's and ego's tight grip on unreality and the lie that believes it is so. There is no need for so-called outer evidence of this. Simply let it be so and it is already so...and the evidence will come as we learn more and more to relax that which within us amounts to denial of reality. We say this "undoing" is the Holy Spirit or Voice For God; but then, just who IS that Holy Spirit? I say without doubt...YOU ARE!!!

Allow your reality to undo your dreams and watch the idols and their temples crumble...both the blissfully great ones and the horrid ones. And when all dreams are aligned and have become "happy dreams," then will the end and final judgment come. Truth, whose entire purpose has been to point to knowledge until resistance to seeing it no longer prevents our vision of it, disappears in the twinkling of an eye, as a mist shrouding the sun, and that glory to which it has pointed is then seen. Truth, the ultimate dream, is seen no more, neither is the world where it became necessary ever remembered.

We stand, as it seems, outside Heaven's Gate, looking for a way to go inside. And that is to our undoing...for the key to the Holy City is not for going inside, but for unlocking the vision to make the gate and walls disappear, and to realize we are already there!
